Jose “Keno” Gandara Gets Four Year Extension

The Miami Hurricanes have extended the contract of head Volleyball coach Jose ‘Keno’ Gandara by four years. Keno led the volleyball team to 25 wins this year, their most since 2012. The Canes finished tied for second place in the ACC and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament this year. It was the fifth tournament appearance under Keno in his 9 years as coach. Overall, Keno has a 158-94 record in the Gables.

“My family and I are beyond excited to continue our work here at the University of Miami,” Gandara said. “My staff and I are very proud of our accomplishments as a team. We look forward to continuing to develop our student-athletes as we compete for both the ACC and NCAA championship.”

As a bonus, Keno also led the Canes to a sweep of FSU on the court this season. Last time the Canes did that was 2008.

About the Author: Legend Staff

The Legend Staff is comprised of some of the hungriest young writers in South Florida. They are the cogs in the Legend engine that nobody knows. If you need to put a face to them, think minions with Canes tattoos. Unless thinking that is a copyright violation. In that case just think of them as worker ants. Easily removed with a magnifying glass if they get out of line.
