Canes waste gem by Palmquist in game 2

Carson Palmquist delivered. Unfortunately, in baseball, just because you deliver doesn’t guarantee victory. The Canes lost 2-1 to Ole Miss in their second game of the Coral Gables Regional despite their ace striking out 10 over 5.1 innings. This was a classic pitcher’s duel as the Rebel’s Hunter Elliot matched Palmquist every step of the way. Miami took a 1-0 lead after Jacob Burke’s sac fly in the sixth, but Ole Miss answered an inning later on a two -run double by Tim Elko. Miami had the tying runner on second in the ninth but closer Brandon Johnson shut the door. Canes will now face Arizona in an elimination game.

About the Author: Legend Staff

The Legend Staff is comprised of some of the hungriest young writers in South Florida. They are the cogs in the Legend engine that nobody knows. If you need to put a face to them, think minions with Canes tattoos. Unless thinking that is a copyright violation. In that case just think of them as worker ants. Easily removed with a magnifying glass if they get out of line.
