A World Without Miami vs. FSU

Few things in sports get the the eyes of a nation on them when teams match up: Yankees Red Sox, North Carolina- Duke basketball and Miami-Florida State football.

These past few weeks have been filled with talks of the next round of conference realignment . USC and UCLA to the Big 10 and rampant rumors about where will Miami be when the music stops this time around at the musical chairs of conferences.

A true reality we may face is no longer having Miami-FSU on a yearly basis . What  happens if that is the end result.

For me I would equate it similarly to Christmas without a Santa Claus. We’ve already seen rivalries thrown aside in the name of greed . Texas-Texas AM, Pittsburgh- West Virginia, and Oklahoma- Nebraska.  I’d for one , would like to see us avoid this fate for Miami/FSU.

Rivalries are the heartbeat of sports and part of what makes sports a passion for many . Let’s not lose a key part of this Miami football passion.

How would you feel if it meant we get Florida every year? I don’t want to lose the rivalry with FSU, but if it does indeed go away it has to be replaced by something. I think even if Miami and FSU end up in different places they still find a way to make this a yearly match up. The ratings are off the charts ridiculous when just one of the teams is good and still pretty good when they both are down.

I’d be fine with moving on from FSU. Honestly, it just isn’t the same anymore.

Bring me USC and let’s start something new!

USC would be a great yearly game. Two huge market private schools.

Personally, I couldn’t imagine going away from this rivalry.. Yeah, it hasn’t been great here recently, but both teams have stunk.. I don’t want any “We would of beat y’all” conversations from Nole fans, or vice versa tbh.

I could not imagine a year when we don’t play FSU, the way the fan bases interact with each other before and after every game reverberates for the rest of the season. bragging rights being secondary to the myriad of “friendly wagers” that happen among most groups of friends who follow CFB, there’s just something magical about “FSU week” …. Plus we gotta pay them back for the long run they had. Thanks for F’ing that up Manny!

I could easily get through the football season without FSU. The rivalry just isnt the same and sometimes it’s simply best for a change. I, for one, am hopeful for a BIG 10 alignment and the ability to play USC on an annual basis. Thanks for being Legendary!
