Student of the Game Hoops- Nijel Pack
Nijel Pack made a splash when he got a 2 year $800,000 NIL deal with Life Wallet after transferring to Miami. Pack was arguably the best player that was in the portal, and will be a key contributor for a Miami team looking to make another deep tournament run. Nijel is a talented shooter/scorer, but will also contribute as a great defender and playmaker.

Shooting Ability: Pack is not only a great shooter at 44% from 3, but he is also very consistent from 3 as well. Pack made a 3 pointer in every single game last season and shot over 30% from 3 in 25/29 games last season. Pack’s quick release, court awareness and activity to get open are on display in the first few clips.
Playmaking: Pack played more of an off-ball role at Kansas State due to their roster build up and because of his ability to shoot the ball. In the limited amount of time where Pack ran the offense, he showed he could get his teammates open shots, great passing ability, elite ball security, and terrific decision-making. Pack’s patience and desire to always make the right play is apparent in the next few clips.
Defensive Ability: Pack’s constant effort and energy on defense really stuck out to me after watching multiple games. Pack doesn’t take plays off on defense and is an absolute pest when guarding the ball. As evident in the next few clips, he does all the little things defensively; Pack boxes out, helps his teammates when they’re out of position, gets through screens well, and is a great communicator on defense.
HUGE ADDITION FOR @CanesHoops 💥💥 Kansas State guard Nijel Pack has committed to Miami over Ohio State and Purdue! Pack averaged 17/3/2 assists and a steal last season for KSU, shot 45.5% from the field and 43.6% from 3. He was first-team All-Big 12 https://t.co/ffHBu1FEcg

There is no doubt in my mind that Nijel Pack is in for a big year next season, he has All-ACC First Team potential and he will look to lead the Canes to another deep tourney run.
