OBBL Florida Power Poll Week 3
This week’s OBBL Florida Power Poll is going to be painful. As always, we will see some movers and shakers because some teams won and some teams lost. How far will your Miami Hurricanes fall after a field goal party at Kyle Field?
#7 FIU Golden Panthers
Previous week #7 UNCHANGED
Record (1-1) Next Opponent: @ Western Kentucky The bye week blues sang loud and proud considering the last time the Coral Gables kitty’s played on a field they lost to Texas State 41-12. The Hilltoppers are -28 in this one so expect another blowout for the Butch cats.
#6 FAU Owls
Previous Rank #4
Record (2-2) Next Opponent: @ Purdue. N’Kosi Perry will you please report to the stage. You need to receive this week’s stripper slide down the poll award. I envision the song Cherry Pie playing in the background or some LOUD TECHNO MUSIC. The former insta-star was held in check to only 108 yards on 13-29 passing. The Owls lost 40-14.
#5 USF Bulls
Previous Rank #6
Record (1-2) Next Opponent: @ Louisville. Damn it! You were so close. Despite outgaining the lizards 402 to 329 in total yardage, the Bulls lost 31-28 at the swamp. We knew once the decision to attempt a tying field goal was made, yeah no chance. Still we applaud the effort. Despite losing this week, the horned ones move up one spot in the power poll.
#4 Florida Gators
Previous Rank #3
Record (2-1) Next Opponent: @ Tennessee. Anthony Richardson sucks. The Gator’s hype machine can’t erase the fact he was 10-18 with two interceptions and zero touchdowns this week. Tim Tebow is a nice guy and all, but at this point he is going to ask Richardson to stop embarrassing the #15. Sure, the Gainesville reptiles won 31-28 over the Bulls, but style points matter.
#3 UCF Knights
Previous Rank #5
Record (2-1) Next Opponent: vs. Georgia Tech. The Knights plunged their swords right into the Willy Warrior’s chest to the tune of 653 total yards and they defeated the Owls 40-14. It’s ok though, Willy still smiles every time he goes to his local Boca bank. The I-4 east bandits have another ACC battle when they face off vs. the rambling wreck from Georgia Tech. Will it be another ACC loss or will the bounce house boys rebound?
#2 Miami Hurricanes
Previous Rank #1
Record (2-1) Next Opponent: vs. Middle Tennessee. Somewhere Jimbo Fisher and Adam Vinatieri are smiling. Jimbo is smiling because he beat the Hurricanes again 17-9 and Vinatieri is smiling because he witnessed a field goal only party. The Mario era took its first L and the Hurricanes look to rebound when they face off vs. Middle Tennessee. Hopefully Josh Gattis finds some red zone magic because there is a new number one in the power poll.
#1 FSU Seminoles
Previous Rank #2
Record (3-0) Next Opponent: vs. Boston College. FML. Mike Norvell kept another L off his record this week as the Spears beat Louisville 35-31. The Noles are they only undefeated team in the state so it is only fitting they sneak into the top spot. Schedule is going to get tougher and we anticipate some losses on deck but what are you going to do? The Seminoles weren’t the team who got over 25 first downs and failed to score a touchdown.
