OBBL Florida Power Poll Week 5

The OBBL Florida Power Poll Week 5 has a new team in the top spot. The FIU Golden Panthers aren’t in the OBBL Florida Power Poll cellar and FSU does what it does. As always, we will see some movers and shakers and where do the Miami Hurricanes rank after the BYE.

#7 USF Bulls

Previous Rank #6

Record (1-4) Next Opponent: @ #24 Cincinnati. The Bulls now fall to 1-4 on the season as the Horns lost 48-28 to East Carolina. Scoop’s Alma mater showed a little bit of life when they faced off vs. the Gators of Gainesville but it was fool’s gold. The Pirates overwhelmed the Tampa troops and it doesn’t get any easier this week when they travel to Dan Enos land to face Cincinnati.

#6 FIU Golden Panthers

Previous week #7

Record (2-2) Next Opponent: vs. Connecticut  The Coral Gables Kitty’s got the dub. Imagine that. The paws up people beat New Mexico State 21-7 and that was good enough to get them out of the cellar. Get some fresh air kids that is what the sun looks like. Toast’s Connecticut Huskies come into town and let’s hope the Golden Panthers don’t go full Orlovsky and step out of the end zone this week.

#5 FAU Owls

Previous Rank #4

Record (2-4) Next Opponent: BYE WEEK. Hootie and the Blowfish are on a three game losing streak after losing 45-20 to North Texas. Speaking of streaky, here is your N’Kosi Perry weekly update. He was 50% passing and threw two interceptions with two touchdowns. Willy Taggart you keep hustling baby. The Boca boys look to rebound with some Rice (the team) after the BYE week.

#4 Miami Hurricanes

Previous Rank #5

Record (2-2) Next Opponent: vs. UNC. Mario Cristobal’s Hurricane honeymoon is still over after losing to Middle Tennessee State 45-31 at home. The Hurricanes look to rebound with Tyler Van Dyke at quarterback. Cristobal double downed on Van Dyke being the guy this week and suddenly this game looks like the key to the season. Win and go rolling or lose and wheels fall off. Tune in #canes fans. The Hurricanes moved up simply by default.

#3 Florida Gators

UNCHANGED

Previous Rank #3

Record (3-2) Next Opponent: vs. Missouri. The Gators won this week on a rare Sunday College football game. UF beat Eastern Washington 52-17 and Anthony Richardson’s interception streak stayed alive. Jalen Kitna saw some action this week at QB and maybe the Archer Street reptiles have their own quarterback controversy brewing. What is Bayou Billy going to do?

#2 FSU Seminoles

Previous Rank #1

Record (4-1) Next Opponent: @ #14 NC State. The Seminoles lost to #15 Wake Forrest 31-21 and finally fall out of the top spot. You knew it was going to happen right? FSU is back! Back to doing exactly what you knew they were going to do in the Mike Norvell era. The schedule gets tougher as the Wolfpack and then the Clemson Tigers come to town. 4-3 is a real possibility for the Tallahassee Ticks.

#1 UCF Knights

Previous Rank #2

Record (3-1) Next Opponent: vs. SMU. The Knights beat Georgia Tech  27-10 what seems like forever ago. The SMU game is this Wednesday and that pesky gimmicky Rhett Lashlee offense is coming to the bounce house. The armored ones are now the #1 team in the state and they will probably throw a parade. It will have confetti, cake and national championship T-shirts.
