Malachi Coleman clarifies “They canceled on me.”
Four orange wide receiver prospect Malachi Coleman is a 2023 target who was “supposed” to visit the Miami Hurricanes this weekend. Coleman was planning on using one of his four remaining official visits this weekend when the Hurricanes took on the North Carolina Tar Heels.
But that isn’t going to happen. After a 247 report reporting no official visit, Coleman declared on social media that the Miami Hurricanes canceled their visit and it isn’t clear if there will be any plans to reschedule.
To clarify they canceled on me. -Malachi Coleman
Coleman is a 6’5, 205 pound blazer from Lincoln, Nebraska. Even throughout the tumultuous season and the firing of Scott Frost, The Huskers are believed to be the hometown favorite for the speedy wideout’s services. A Miami Hurricane commitment was considered a longshot but that could always change after an official visit.

The OBB Recruiting hub is also speculating that Coleman was canceled on his Ole Miss visit as well but that has not yet been confirmed publicly by Coleman. Recruiting is a fluid situation but the reports of additional schools canceling would be a red flag.

The Hurricanes currently have wide receiver commitments from Nathaniel Joseph and Robby Washington but the staff wants more. Offensive Coordinator Josh Gattis has often times criticized the current group and looking to upgrade is a priority. Regardless of the Coleman situation, expect the Hurricanes to hunt down more pass catchers.
The Hurricanes have offered 40 2023 wide receivers scholarships. That is a lot. Stay tuned and join the OBB discord and get up to date recruiting information.
