Miami picked to finish 4th in ACC
The Miami Hurricanes were recently picked to finish 4th in the ACC conference preseason poll. Prior to last season the Canes were predicted to finish as 12th in this very same poll, but the Canes ended the regular season with the fourth best conference record and made it to the elite 8.
It is apparent Miami is not being overlooked going into this season, this preseason prediction is the highest Miami has received since the 2017-2018 season where Miami was also selected to finish 4th.
You really have to take this preseason poll with a grain of salt, because college basketball is a wildly unpredictable sport. Take last season for example, Miami and Wake Forest were chosen to finish 12th and 13th respectively, but both teams finished in the top 5 in the final ACC standings.
FSU was chosen to finish with the 2nd best record last year but had a disappointing injury-filled year and finished 8th in the ACC. The college basketball season is full of surprises, you really never know what can happen.

The preseason ranking for Miami means little to nothing, but what should be noted is that there are very different expectations for this team compared to previous years teams. OBBL is also home of the Student of the Game Hoops series. Check out the Ice Man’s SOTG breakdown on Jordan Miller.
