Bob Conley’s Week 9 Miami Hurricane PFF All Stars

Even when the Miami Hurricanes manage a meager 6 points in regulation, there are still Week 9 Miami Hurricane PFF All Stars to give out.

“A win is a win, regardless of how you look at it” – Alonzo Mourning

Offensive All Star:

John Campbell Jr.

Offensive Grade- 80.5

Stats: 74 snaps, 0 sacks given up, 1 pressure

Advanced Stats: Highest graded run blocking lineman, only 1 pressure allowed on 37 pressure opportunities.

Protected the blindside, sealed the edge on the run, and absolutely did work. Campbell Jr. played his best-graded game as a Hurricane Saturday, after giving up a pair of sacks vs Duke.

Honorable Mention

Kahlil Brantley

Offensive Grade- 79.5

Stats: 14 plays/12 blocking

Advanced Stats: Run Block 92.0, 1 soul taken (not really but my goodness did he de-cleat that man).

Nothing fancy from our All-Stars this week and that’s fine. These young men set the tone in blocking this week and paved the way for Henry Parrish Jr. to reach 100+ yards for the first time since week 1.

Nothing gets me more excited than a bone-shaking, jaw-loosening block that leaves the defender wondering why he didn’t choose to play basketball (no offense MattyIce 😊).

Special recognition to Andres Borregales aka Captain Clutch. For some reason, PFF doesn’t think Special Teams players matter as much as the rest and don’t grade special teams until well into the week.

Through week 8 The Stache is the 19th highest-graded Kicker among Power 5 teams.

Season All-Star Watchlist:

Leonard Taylor

Season Defensive Grade- 91.2 Defensive Grade

Stats: 4 sacks, 4 Hits, 10 Hurries, 10 Tkls and 2 Assts

Advanced Stats: Average Depth of Tackle -0.7 (aka Backfield) on run plays, 27% PRP (pass rush disruption) Win%

Leonard Taylor has been ON FIRE for the last two weeks. LT has been disruptive in the pass, stout in the run, and playing the most complete as any DT in the country. 3

Week 8- 3rd highest-graded P-Rush Defender (Power 5)

Week 9- 7th highest-graded Overall Defender (Power 5)

YTD- 2nd highest-graded Interior Lineman (Power 5)

YTD- 3rd highest graded Defender (Power 5)
