The Wake Up
Good morning OBB. This is your Friday morning wake up call. Much to cover as we scurry through the halls of Discord-U. The Miami Hurricanes are surging in recruiting and the rest of the country is taking notice. There are lots of haters too. Should we head on over to the Greentree? Lets go!

OBB Alumni and CBS/247 national correspondent Josh Pate had interesting things to say when he joined the Orange Bowl Boys. One thing in particular was how he firmly believed that Mario Cristobal would finish with a top five class this year. People called him crazy. Pate is now smiling.
After the commitment of Samson “Pancake Honcho” Okunlola yesterday the Hurricanes now have a pair of 5 star incoming offensive linemen. And they have entrenched themselves into the top 5. With only a few more days left until the Early Signing period the Hurricanes look to land a cornerstone class.
“Long live Pate State.”
“There’s a kid whomst got slandered for predicting Miami finishing with a top 5 class and that kid is smiling today. The kid is me.” –Josh Pate

John Ruiz isn’t backing down. The MSP recovery founder and Life Wallet Sports NIL ambassador has often taken criticism for his online takes. This time around, rival fans are increasingly upset at the success of Miami Hurricane recruiting and are citing the NIL money as the primary and only source.
“Everyone has the exact same chance at recruiting players. Be better and stop criticizing and complaining.” John Ruiz, Attorney at Law

Some visitors this weekend include Rueben Bain, Mark Fletcher, Alabama transfer Javion Cohen, Thomas Gore and Oregon WR Dont’e Thornton. Cohen and Thornton are portal players at positions of dire need. The impact talent needed on the offensive side of the ball cannot be overstated. The wide receiver position in particular.
“You really just called Dont’e Thornton and Javion Cohen underwhelming. lol” -Leeds
“The portal guys this weekend are nice, the HS kids are already guys committed outside Fletcher. So I can see where underwhelming comes from on the HS front. I guess at least it’s not a bunch of last weekend before signing day vacations like it was for a while.” –Canes Rev

Former Miami Hurricane All-American Jon Jay is now the new Miami Marlin’s Outfield and First base coach. This is Jay’s first MLB coaching gig and he of course was former St. Louis Cardinal teammate with Marlin’s new manager Skip Schumaker. Jay is a member of the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame and was in the Major Leagues for 12 years.
“One of my favorite players of all time.”
