Good morning. This is your OBB Thursday morning Hall of Fame wake up call. The Miami Hurricanes pay homage to the seventh floor crew with a brand new forever home and the men’s hoops squad took an L. Should we head on over to the Greentree? #LETSGO! Wake Up!
Miami Athletics announced its plans to build a new football operations center. The state-of-the-art complex will provide the best amenities to include, sports medicine, strength and conditioning, nutrition, sports phycology and personal branding services.
“We are excited to announce plans to build the best-in class, on-campus football facility.” Athletic Director Dan Radakovich said. “This new football operations center speaks to the promise of Miami Building championship programs.”
The design came from HOK and Arquitectonica and it includes a seven-story football operations building and a parking garage. The facility is set to encompass more than 172,000 square feet and also include spectacular skyline views.
“They are going to move the coaches office out of (the) Carol Soffer building?”
“7 floors. (As in) 7th floor crew.”
“If they don’t have a G Reg room, there will be riots.”
The Hurricanes assault on college football in terms of the aesthetic arms race is set to take a major face lift. Upon completion of the football operations center the University of Miami will have one the most premier facilities in the country.
Former Miami Hurricanes Devin Hester, Andre Johnson and Reggie Wayne are part of the 15-player finalist list for the NFL’s 2023 Hall of Fame class. The Pro Football Hall of fame made its announcement Wednesday night and the orange and green were well represented.
Hester was a return specialist/wide receiver who played from 2006-2016. Johnson was a wide receiver who played from 2003-2016 and Wayne was a wide receiver from 2001-2014. Wayne was the only one of this group who played his whole career with one team, the Indianapolis Colts.
In terms of eligibility, Hester and Johnson are two years into their eligibility markers while Wayne is in his fourth. All three have outstanding chances to be enshrined including Johnson who is the Texans’ all time leading receiver and made the Pro Bowl a remarkable 7 times.
“Reggie and Dre should get in. Devin Hester Changed the game.”
#12 Miami fell to an unranked Georgia Tech team 76-70. The Hurricanes went stone cold down the back stretch allowing the Yellow Jackets to score the final 12 points. The loss snapped a nine-game winning streak for the Hurricanes.
Norchad Omier and Jordan Miller both scored 17 points but the team collectively shot a season-low 35.3 percent from the field. The loss was the first one since losing to Maryland earlier this season and it also snapped a seven-game conference road winning streak. This was Georgia Tech’s first conference win.
The Miami Hurricanes play Boston College next on January 11th.
“This is a coach L special.”
“Quite a few forced 3’s especially that one from Omier.”
“Definitely should have won though.”
