Women’s Hoops Tops BC in ACC Tourney Opener 84-69
There are only good wins in March. The Miami Hurricanes Women’s basketball team took care of business in their opening round (2nd round) matchup against Boston College 84-69. If there was any doubt about the team’s NCAA bubble status, I believe it was wiped out this evening.
The Canes were solid all night. Miami did what they wanted in the paint all night. Whether it was on the offensive glass where they had 17 boards, or in the paint where they scored almost half their points, they did what they wanted. Destiny Harden and Lola Pendande had 13 & 15 points respectively while also combining for 17 rebounds. Destiny also had this gem…

Our trinitarian of guards, had almost as much fun. Lashae Dwyer led the crew with 17 points on 70% shooting. Haley Cavinder added 14 and 9 rebounds while Karla Erjavec had 9 points and was 2-of-3 from deep. For the game, the Hurricanes bench added 35 and stepped up big.

When this team hits on all cylinders, they are very good. Let’s hope they can keep this flow up in round three where they will face #3 seed Virginia Tech at 8p on Friday.
